Vehicle Separator is a high speed electronic device, capable of identifying and separating vehicles in any environmental condition. Vehicle separator is used for the actual separation of vehicles. The main purpose of vehicle
separator is to give activation and deactivation signal to WIM.
Vehicle Separator is used for actual separation of vehicles when WIM (Weigh In Motion) scale is installed in the toll lane.
It comprises of Receiver tower and its control panel and Transmitter tower and its control panel. When two vehicles arrive one after another magnetic loop won’t get time to deactivate and magnetic loop signal remains low even if first vehicle is left. In this case vehicle separator neglects the magnetic loop signal and takes the decision on the basis of its own separator signal. When vehicle arrives in front of separator, it gives high signal and low when vehicle leaves. Whenever any object other than vehicle (e.g. man) comes in front of vehicle separator, separator neglects the object and WIM signal remains low.
Magnetic loop detector works in coordination with Vehicle Separator for accurate separation of vehicles. Magnetic loop detects presence of vehicle before the vehicle hits. Whenever any object other than vehicle (e.g. man) comes in front of vehicle separator, separator neglects the object as magnetic loop detects absence of vehicle.
